PHYSICAL AGILITY

If you pass the written examination you will receive an invitation to the physical agility in the mail with the test time and location.

The Physical Agility Test has been established as a bonafied occupational qualification through research and testing, to assure the Department that the applicant has sufficient endurance, strength and agility to perform physical tasks similar to those that could be required of a law enforcement officer in the performance of his duties.

The test consists of five events:

Event #1 99 yard Obstacle Course Run a 99 yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb height obstacles, and a 34 inch high obstacle that must be vaulted.
Event #2 Body Drag Lift and drag 165 pound life-like dummy 32 feet.
Event #3 Chain Link Fence 6 foot chain link fence obstacle and 30 yard run.
Event #4 Solid Fence Climb 6 foot solid fence climb obstacle and 30 yard run.
Event #5 500 yard Run Run 500 yards (equivalent to 1 lap plus 60 yards of a standard running track.)

The test is scored on a "total points" basis; the points earned in each event must total the minimum passing score. The below times represent the average minimum passing times for each event. A deficiency in one event may be compensated for by proficiency in one or more of the other events. Performance in each event at a time faster than below will ensure a passing score.
